Close racing to miss oulton park
It is with great sadness that we announce that Close Racing will not be attending the Oulton Park round of the BRSCC Mazda MX-5 Championship.
Due to the extent of the damage to the car following Cadwell Park and the time scale taken to source spares and repair the car, we have decided to miss Oulton Park and concentrate all of our efforts in getting ready for Croft on the 14th of September. This will be our first time racing on home soil despite our driver Mike Close passing his ARDS test here, he has never turned a competitive wheel on the track.

23rd April 2015
With race entries regularly closing in on 60 cars, we have managed to squeeze ourselves into the BRSCC Mazda MX5 Championship.
Taking place over eight weekends and consisting of eighteen, twenty minute races. With regulations set so that all cars are as equal and all costs are as reasonable as possible its little wonder why the championship is pulling in the grid numbers that it is.

Congratulations to Mike Close for passing his Association of Racing Drivers Schools (ARDS) test.
It is with great pleasure the we can announce Mike Close has completed his ARDS test at Croft circuit near Darlington. He is now eligible to compete under a national 'b' licence. Good Luck!

We all remember that feeling don't we? The glistening paint just calling out to you, the open road at your beckoning call, well here at Close Racing we now have our first car and to say we're excited about it is an understatement.
The car is a MK1 Mazda MX5 built lovingly by the knowledgable (or so they would have you believe) staff at AK Automotive. AK Automotive are the leading specialists on all things Mazda MX5 in the North of England, what they can't tell you about the little two seater sports car isn't worth knowing.
